Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Circled in Ink ("we", "us", "our") produces educational videos and a weekly email recap that explain public company earnings filings. Our website is circledinink.com. You can reach us at hello@circledinink.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Email address. If you sign up for the weekly recap, we collect the email address you enter. That is the only information the signup form asks for.
• Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write.

Information collected automatically

• Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider and our email provider may log your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and referring page. We use this to keep the site working and to understand, in aggregate, how people find the recap.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Our newsletter provider (beehiiv) loads a signup form and an attribution script that may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure which sources produce signups. We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies on this site.
• Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for or collect payment information, government identifiers, or financial account details on this site. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

3. How we use information

• To send you the weekly recap and related emails you signed up for.
• To reply to your messages.
• To keep the website secure and working, and to understand in aggregate which content and channels are useful.
• To comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and the newsletter, and only so they can perform those services:

• beehiiv, which hosts our signup form and sends our emails. It processes your email address under its own privacy policy.
• Our website host, which serves the pages you request.
• Google Fonts, as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

5. Google and YouTube API Services

We publish our videos to our own YouTube channel using the YouTube Data API v3. To do this, we connect an application we operate ("Circled in Ink Factory") to our own Google account, and only with our own authorization.

• What the app can do. It requests the youtube.upload scope, which lets it upload videos and set their title, description and privacy status on our own channel. It does not read the account, channel or viewing data of any other person.
• What data the app handles. The only Google user data it holds is the OAuth authorization (a refresh token) for our own account, kept as an encrypted secret in our private code repository's secret store. We do not collect Google user data from visitors, subscribers or viewers through this application.
• Sharing and transfer. We do not sell, transfer or share Google user data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
• Revoking access. You can review and revoke the application's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Circled in Ink's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

By watching our videos on YouTube you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Instagram and other social platforms

We post short videos to our own Instagram account through Meta's official publishing API using an access token for our own account. This connection is used only to publish our content. It does not read or collect information about our followers or any other users. When you interact with us on Instagram, TikTok, X or YouTube, those platforms collect and process your information under their own policies, and we receive only what they show us as the account owner (for example, public comments and aggregate analytics).

7. How long we keep information

We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and remove your address from our active list, though our email provider may keep limited records of the unsubscribe. We keep emails you send us for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward.

8. Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
• Access, correct or delete. Email hello@circledinink.com and we will respond within 30 days.
• Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

Depending on where you live (for example, California, other U.S. states, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted, or to object to its use. Contact us and we will honor those rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including keeping API credentials and tokens in encrypted secret stores and using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International visitors

We and our service providers are based in or operate from the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our site or tools change. When we do, we will change the effective date above and, for material changes, tell subscribers by email.
